5ton GunTruck

I am building a replica of the truck I drove in Iraq in 2005, I started with the Ital Big foot kit and added some “farmer armor”

I hope to have this done in the next few weeks , here are some pics from about about 2 weeks back

Looking good! And thank you for your service to this country!

Brian

Indeed - thank you for your service sir.

She’s one tough looking truck- looking forward to seeing her done.

Are you using parts from the Verlinden HumVee detailing set in the first shot on her? If so I hope you take some close-ups of all the detail you’re adding.

yes I am using the sowage kit from Ver. I am also robing some stuf out of a dragon M1A1.

I will take some pics tonight of the current progress, I re-installed the exhaust in the new position and started adding the small detail on the body.

I’m liking that scratch-built steel plate armor - looks like the real thing!

Looks sweet sir! Don’t see much of these and thank you for your service![t$t]

Hi Trooper,

We all knew back in the 80’s- 90’s that the lack of any protective armor on the trucks would prove detrimental for us, and America’s future servicemen / women…

Your project looks fantastic, and stands as a testament of your appreciated service, devotion to your unit, fellow warriors, and our families.

HOOOAAAAH!!!

a quick shot of the new additions, I took a litle break from this to finish a few other kits but I am back on it now

oh yea thanks for the complements guys.

we ran the homemade armoe until may05 then that decided it was not safe and put the “up armor” kits on the trucks

Its looking good. You may want to change out the kit tires/wheels with some AM Resin ones. The kit ones are horrible and don’t resemble the actual tires at all. Check Vodnik’s site to see some options on wheels. I like the Cam Design ones myself. Vodnik also has a M923A1 super-detail articleM923A1 Arty Prime Mover. I used his article when building my recently as well.

Keep up the good work.

I thought about changing the tires, but we had so many different ones that it really didnt matter

Great looking build [Y]. Thank you for your service.

I have the same kit and have not started it yet. I am glad to see someone like yourself who is familiar with the truck other than from books and pictures. Please keep us posted on the progress. Glad you are back OK,

George

A small world.I would see them parked in 3 places.By the LA’s the CASH,by the motor pool near the Army gym and by the gate with the crossed swords by Camp Mittica.
