48th Stang - Finished at last!!! (Almost...)

This is one of those builds that just seems to take forever. I still have a few minor things to do, much of which is evident in these photos, (alotta touch ups, especially on the flaps, detail painting and a bit of weathering…) but for all intents and purposes, she’s finished.

I’m not exactly happy with this one, far from it. Some of the problems are beyond my control (thick canopy & windshield), but many are due to my own impatience; I just wanted to get this thing done! So I cut some corners here and there and did some stupid things, but all in all it does look decent, I guess…

Fade to Black…

Okay, Blackwolf, if you say so.

Looks like a winner from what I can see.

Nice job!.. I’d be proud of it.[:)]

If I could do half as good I’d be proud as a pig in a pile of slop.

Are those the Moskit exhausts?

Hi ya blackwolfscd

Great build-up of a great a/c … nice pictures too … thanks so much for sharing!!! [8D]

Blackwolf,
Excellent Mustang ! [:D] I don’t see any problems .
Which unit operated it and were the decals included in the
kit? Also did you use Alclad or Testors Metalizers ? Thanks
for sharing.

Hey Steve,
Its about time you finished her!![:p][:p]. Very well done indeed my friend.
If I’m not mistaken you put her in the 339th FG markings right? WOW maybe you can add it to the display case at Ace along w/ my Me262. At least there will be another new build besides mine[;)]
Speaking of that I thought we were suppose to rotate our builds once in awhile. I guess that went out the window too[:p][:p].
Anyway cant wait to have an up close peak at it myself.
Flaps up, Mike

BTW
Rudder says meow meow meeeooowwwww…[:p]

Hey Stevo, you sell yourself short! If my Mustang turns out half as good as that, I will dance a Irish jig in the street ! Great job, awesome looking Mustang!

BEAUTIFUL PONY THERE, BLACKWOLF ! ! ! Your modesty is eclipsed only by your talent.

Great job there… I know the feeling about wanting to get it done and having to decide about taking short cuts…

I have too many that are taking too long too!!!

OK…

Most definitely, I would love tips on how to reproduce that before I start the paintjob on the Tuskegee Mustang I am about to start…

Steve, that’s a good looking Mustang. You’re too modest.

wolfie old boy what the hell did we do to incur your displeasure???
no explaination…just a curt goodbye…hope all is well old boy…drop me an email…stay in touch…??

Nice looking P-51. Who makes the decals? I have a 1/48 Hasegawa kit and have been looking for markings to put it in.

Well, I say it looks quite good. I like the different colored panels on the wing. You have some very nice little touches there. Don’t be too hard on yourself there, at my best I’d be thrilled to produce something that nice. I feel like I am getting better though. Keep up the good work.

madda

Blackwolf…that is one fine lookin’ Mustang. Don’t be too hard on yourself, I am sure that you will do better next time[:D]

I wish that mine would look that good, or for that matter, get finished! Good Job!

Jerry

I know that we are most critical of ourselves, but that pony looks really nice. You have a kit to be proud of. I know that I am guilty of cutting corners toward the end of a build as well, but if you did, you mask it well. Other than the thick canopy ()again, nothing you could do) I think it looks great. I personally wouldn’t even weather the exterior, just from the clean build standpoint. So few people make clean models. Just MHO.

seriously? you’re not happy with this? wow. wolfman, this plane is freaking gorgeous. I can only imagine what the planes that you are happy with look like. You are a talented builder my friend. That is a beautiful, BEAUTIFUL ac. Nice job!
