Wanted to share with you one of my latest builds, this '47 (or maybe '48?) Chevy Fleetmaster Coupe.
This was the Galaxie Models 1:25 scale kit:
And I have to say it came together beutifully. The kit was super high quality, all the parts fitted well, and the end result is excellent.
I’ll start with the engine. My method is to use high gloss black primer and then to mist on some Mr Colour metal, followed by some panel liner for weathering.
And the fully installed engine:
The undercarriage
The amazing interior:
And the final car! Ther are some pictures below of my build compared with the origial / real thing that I used as my inspiration.
Finally, some pictures compared to the original car that inspired this one. OK I may have added some wheel covers for the rear.
She’s a beauty I think! Let me know what your thoughts are!
That is a beautiful model. One glaring error however. You have the distributor where the starter goes and the starter where the distributor goes. Not sure how you mixed them up.
Lee this was a optional, though very short lived, anti-theft device. It was to be activated by using special quick change bolts to swap the starter and distributor. So a would be, thief would, upon trying to figure out why the car wouldn’t start and opening the hood would see all the parts there-but being a dumb thief- would not recognize the switch. As stated this option was withdrawn from service after the only car so equipped, was sold to an novice buyer in East Undershirt New Jersey in May of 1947. Buit you probly already knew all that.
