Well, that’s just the upper half of the rear cargo ramp. It is usually in the fully retracted position (up inside the cabin) during flight, but sometimes they just let it hang down loose like that when they’re on the deck. It’s usually because they are doing maintenance inside that area of the cabin and need the room to work in or get access to components.
By the way, sweet find on all the photos![tup]
Thanks Snake! and you welcome!
Do the Hooks have that?..maybe its just the nam Hooks I’m used to seeing?
Man…I kinda wish someone had a interior kit for the 1/48 Sea Knight cabin area…all those lightning holes! [:p]
I placed my order with Cobra Company today for the resin set. YAHOO!!
This si going to be a FUN project!
Awesome ref site! Thanks for sharing it. [:)]

I think I better save this for another day, otherwise it’ll be 0400 before I get to bed…[:D] Thanks for the refs!
This ROCKS!..This is a HOOK system…I wonder if the Hook rotors are simular to the CH46 Rotors?
Phrogs’ DCU rotor heads are a bit different. The blade attaches to the rotor head with two bolts and the blade fold is farther up the rotor head itself. I’ll see if I can’t find a photo…
Thank you dragon!
De nada Senor…[:D]
About those overhead cargo doors… Apparently, the area above the cargo doors is packed with hydraulic lines and components. Often the maintenance crews are met with hydraulic waterfalls when they let that door down. Usually they stand behind the door or off to the side when they let it down, but sometimes they get a new guy to do it.
Better than a -53…where the hyd fluid rains down on you in flight![:D]
I remember riding in a bird that when the pilot flared for landing aboard the ship, all of the dripping fluid that had collected in the panels above me found its way into my lap[yuck]
I still have hyd fluid stains on my seabag.[:D] However, I don’t mind either the Phrog or the Sh*&^er. If it hovers…it’s fine by me.[:D]
