Just put the final touches on 3 armor models; here they are:
Tamiya 1/35 Leopard 2A5 with Eduard PE set:
Dragon’s 1/72 Bradley M2A2 ODS (Iraq 2003) and Hasegawa’s 1/72 Pz.Kpfw VI Gier I ausf. E. Unfortunately I couldn’t take seperate and better photos as my digi camera was about to run out of battery power.
ugh just tried to grab the links from photobucket but apparently they’re doing some maintnence on the site so I’ll post the Bradley and Tiger photos Friday.
thx for the kinds words guys. I used MM clear flat laquer for the flat coat. As I said before I"ll try to get those other photos of the 1/72 armor up in the next few hours (have to leave at 4:00 p.m. to drive in to Louisiana).
alright just got to uploading the 1/72 armor photos in photobucket here they are:
Dragon 1/72 Bradley M2A2 ODS (Iraq 2003) & Hasegawa 1/72 Px.Kpfw VI Tiger I ausf. E (both straight OOTB)
sry I don’t have better-quality, seperate photos, but I already had them packed up for the trip into Louisiana today so I couldn’t get more photos of them. Hopefully you can see them well enough to let me know if there are any things I need to work on on my next armor model. thx for looking!
Great looking Leopard - the dusting is very convincing.
Just one more “finishing touch” though. Leopard 2’s have a red spot in the centre of each road wheel hub (and idler I think). (Yes, I know it’s a miniscule detail - sorry if I’m nit-picking but it’s noticeable in every photo I’ve seen)
I would give the Dragon Bradley a 9 out of 10 rating, due to it’s incredible detail for 1/72 scale. Also the fit was pretty good; I only had problems with the side skirts; they are a little difficult to align properly. I would recommend the model to anyone with a little experience.
Well first off I’m not sure which tracks you’re talking about, but here are the processes I used for each set of tracks. For the Leopard tracks I airbrushed them rust, hand-painted each track pad flat black, then dry-brushed steel on the inner portion of the track where the road wheels make contact with the tracks. The Tiger tracks were airbrushed rust, then dry-brushed with steel. For the Bradley, I airbrushed them gunmetal and hand-painted the track pads with a dark grey. All tracks were weathered with pastels, using the same technique but different colors for each vehicle.
