Have fun!

Hi there MM, AI has done more fine work for you. The halftrack with the Flak gun is really cool. I like the way he left the gun grey and camo’ed up the truck, very visually cool. I also like the “Grumble” , your wallet beat mine to it LOL.

I have not started to paint my Scud or Smerch from Trumpeter, but I noticed the frames around the side windows appear to be unpainted. Did the included masks cover them or was it just an oversite by AI?

I also like that he posed the steer axles, very cool. Bummer Trumpeter, and Meng, did not include the linkages to tie them all together.

All in all nice builds there, and it is GREAT to see your back at the bench as well. Have a GREAT day sir.

Thanks so much for your kind compliments and continuous support, armornut! When I saw the Grumble listed as new on HobbyEasy (HK) and I checked prices on ebay, all more expensive, I ordered rightaway.

First I didn’t notice that the window frames are unpainted, I looked closely after you mentioned and yes, they are unpainted - unlike the Smerch M that he built before (they’re the same 8x8 truck). I have send a PM to him to ask why but he has not replied yet.

He complained a lot about this kit - that it has too many and uncessary details, and that it took him 7 days just to assemble it. May be true, with 1,080+ parts and 32 pages instruction manual. I’d go insane if I built it myself.

How did you know I’m back at the bench? I didn’t mention it in this post or in my latest page. Anyway, thanks for your kind encouragement. I’ll keep on building!

Have a nice day,

MM

I agree with AI, there area TON of parts, and unless you turn the truck over you’ll never see most of them. I need to get the Grumble to finish my collection of that chassis, once a person gets how they go together it isn’t bad but it is time consuming. Your welcome and catch ya on the forums.
