As you might have guessed this is my second attempt at an AFV, built for the Battle for Germany GB over on the GB Forum.
It’s Tamiya’s 1/35 Panther G late, with Eduard PE, Jordio Rubio barrel and Friuls. All the handles were replaced with brass wire.
All the main camo colours are Tamiya acrylics, freehanded with a Badger 100. Being a wingy builder I Futured the whole vehicle, then applied several coats of diluted burnt umber water colour to all the recesses etc, followed up by a gentle dry brushing, using lightened mixes of the base colours.
I then applied a dilute mix of red brown and black to the edges of all the panels, finished off with a filter coat of very dilute Gunze ‘Sand’ , followed up with an application of pastels to the tracks, wheels and lower hull.
I know I’ve made a few ‘school boy’ errors, mainly due to my lack of familiarity with armour, but it’s not prevented me picking up Trumpeter’s KV2 and Lion Roar PE set.
You’ve certainly mastered the art of aftermarket spending. All that stuff must have set you back a few pennies. If you ask me, it was well worth it. It’s a beautiful model. I really like the weathering on the roadwheels and tracks.
