I have never even seen or heard of that kit till now.
In 1990 I spoke with Barry from Halcyon models of England and at that time he told me the NOSTROMO was going to be a styrene kit about 24 inches long! …I guess thay had to make some changes…too bad that kit cost so much dough![:(]

What’s the word on Halcyon? Are they officially out of business, or making a comeback? They did some great kits but those have gone to collectible status now. (Just saw a Drop Ship go for $130 on eBay)
95.00 is alot of dough- but not out of line for a 24" resin kit. Heck, a 1/48th scale resin figure can be 8.00 and up. Having cast some parts resin is time consuming and easy to get wrong- wasting materials. The price can only come down if it is mass-produced, and this item obviously never will be. The molds for most resin kits burn out after about 30 pulls or so.
The last thing that I knew is that a Japanese company was running off some Halcyon kits a few years back…the cost was a little higher than the English kits.
They may still be available., maybe do a google search under HALCYON?
yeah…for a 24 inch RESIN kit that wasn’t that bad at all…the original retail could have been higher.
I’d be a little cautious. This guy says his kit is a resin recast. Is it authorized, or is it one that he’s copied in his garage? Copyright problems potentially there.
His stuff really is sub-par. Even for recasts. I have bought a couple of really tiny kits from him and they are almost not worth working on. Also don’t forget that the original Brittish kit wasn’t of the highest craftsmanship either. The original kit goes for around $250US. You may be able to see it listed on Comet’s website.

My concern would be more that it’s not good to support recasters, who are basically thieves undecutting the efforts of the good folks who create these products we all enjoy so much. Recasting has already basically killed the garage kit hobby.

The garage kit industry is dead? I wouldn’t know seeing so many kits coming out all the time. 
The injection kit industry is relatively dead if you ask me. Although nobady did ask me.

I know several prominent people in the hobby who have pretty much gotten out of it – modelers, sculptors and distributors.
Recasting is one part, but it seems that generally speaking the people who made the hobby really take off in the early 90’s have moved on to other things. Going to Wonderfest in Kentucky these day, you see few new kits. People are there selling the same pieces as last year, and the year before.
I hear the Geometric has been bought from it’s founder. He had moved on to bigger things. He became a Judge I believe. Screamin’ dropped off the face of the Earth but they never made anything I liked. And there is always the infamous Lunar Models. I think they have pased through more hands than a female pilot at a Tail Hook party. (Sorry. THat was in bad taste.)
The Japanese resin kit industry is insanely producive. But like all the companies I listed above, you could hardly call them “Garage” companies.
Randy Bowen has gotten really big as well. I remember his work for Dark Horse ages ago. It shouldn’t be too long before ho goes all “Tod McFarlande” on us with affordable Chinese painted sculpture/toys.
Larry - I agree with what you say about re-casters, but is this kit being produced any more and are Halcyon still around?
I would love to buy a genuine Sulaco, but better from this guy than not at all.

The Halcyon kit is insanely overpriced and not that great at that price either. But you can still find it on Ebay.
I believe what my Jedi friend here is trying to say is:
THAT KIT SUCKS! IT"S TOO DANG SMALL FOR THE ORIGINAL RETAIL OF 50.00 BUCKS U.S.!

Monsters in motion used to offer a resin Sulaco. In fact, they had just about everything available from the Aliens movies at one time or another but all I’ve seen lately is the USCM helmet, some alien figures and the pulse rifle -but it’s out of stock. (like I had $3000 to spend on one anyway!)
