Here is the almost finished Depot Hack. I still have the spare tire, toolbox to install. I’m very please how the wood grain came out. I used Gray primer,Tamiya XF-78 Wooden Deck Tan,XF-72 Brown/JGSDF, the primer is Gaahleri Kaleido Acrylic. Opinions please, i’m not a master modeler. I just model because of my PTSD, bi-polar depression, it helps me out greatly. If i can improve on things, please let me know
Nice work Jeffery. I always enjoying seeing what people are working on. That’s an interesting subject. Thanks for posting.
Now there’s something you don’t see every day!
Nice work!
Nice job. Whose kit is it?
AMT remake kit, it was released awhile ago.
Thank you, second try at doing wood.
That didn’t turn out half bad Jeff. Keep at it and you’ll be surprised at what you’ll be able to pull off in the coming year. I had no idea what I was capable of until I hung around online scale modeling communities for a while. Looking forward to seeing more of your work man.
Joe
Thank you very much, greatly appreciated. I just model to help with myPTSD, bipolar depression, it helps me out a lot.
We’ve all got our reasons for participating in this great hobby Jeff. I’m a recovered alcoholic and I returned to this hobby shortly after I recovered to have something to actually show for my time. 13 years into my recovery I find myself immersed into scale modeling and love every minute of it.
Congratulations, i’m also a recovering alcoholic. For me it’s 30 yrs alcohol free.
A big congratulations goes back out to you too brother. ![]()
Nice work! Wood finishes are really tough to replicate, whether new, refinished, or weathered. They each have their own unique properties. It looks like you’ve nailed the ‘production finish’ on that hack.
Thank you very much for the vote of confidence. I try my best.
