Like most with a love of good aircraft kits I was very pleased to see the release by 21st Century Toys of some really fine WWII Aircraft Kits. However, be forewarned about the Zero kit. While the box shows a picture of a “finished” plane complete with the belly tank, and the instructions show one present in the photo and painting guide, there are not the parts to make one up.
I have contacted 21st Century Toys about this and have been told that the kit was not “tooled” for the belly tank. I wrote them back stating that the kit was and is the basis of their 1/32 offer of the “built up” Zero and it comes with a tank - still waiting to see where this goes.
I beleive that you should get what the picture on the box indicates.
I am though, still looking forward to some of the other offerings - can’t beat the price.
I’ve been using Testors glue [in the black thingy with the metal tip] and it hold fine for some things. On the bigger pieces though, I’ve gone to my trusty quickset CA
Just picked this one up, our local Wally-World just got em. Looks like a decent kit, and the decals are VERY nice. I like how the instructions include BOTH Tamiya color and Testors MM color numbers for each version that can be built.
The lack of the drop tank don’t bother me, I got enough garbage I can make one in ten minutes![8D]
LOL…what a hoot…they sell kits with no belly tank, and the SAME model already built WITH the belly tank…and you can’t get a belly tank for the kit…mate, my brain hurts.
Reminds me of a movie I saw once…city slickers stop at the country gas station and ask the old timer in the rocking chair how to get to a particular destination…he squints, ruminates, then pronounces…“You can’t get there from here…”
Like I said…my brain hurts.
Hey mate…
Not really sure what you mean by your remarks to my post - but then you Aussies all say, “Now that’s a knife.” Wish I had me one to carve me a drop tank for my Zero.
P.S. - As a former MG (1970 MG Midget MKIII) driver myself, A “Safety Fast” to you too - GET A MIATA!!!
Sorry, man…I missed your post…
What I meant was…like the non-sensical statement “you can’t get there from here”, the fact that you cannot buy one of two versions of the same model with a belly tank is just simply a bizzarre, non-sensical marketing choice on the part of the manufacturer .
It just don’t make no sense, do it?
