Thanks Modelcrazy! That looks good. I’ll definitely have to get one of these.
I started the P-40. I looks like a pretty quick build. The panel lines look a little deep but the reviews I’ve read say it is a fairly accurate kit.
Interesting. I have the Academy P-40M on deck so I’ll be watching your build closely.
I got some more finishing work done on the Morane-Saulnier. One more decal left and then it’s on to weathering. Prop and legs are only mocked up.
MC you are confusing me. what do you want to show in the roster? i think i have 5 for you right now.
TERRY the 222 looks really nice
SUOMI39 your plane is coming along nicely
i plan to get base coat on MCV on friday. have to decal the atomic cannon, do some light weathering and build a small base for it. finished the 1/35 T-72 for GW1 GB (the ground phase actually started today) and am working on a 1/35 STRV-103C S-tank which i will do in a winter scheme. may pick up a 1/35 103B and both in OTS too.
Yep, that sounds right. The last three should be quick builds. The Mariner and sub will be a different story.
Not much progress on my scooter the past few days. My assistant manager is out for the week with strep, so no days off for me. [:(] I’ve got the fuselage together but not much else.
On the bright side, my Tamiya F-16CJ finally made it off the slow boat from Japan. It’s only been 6 weeks. Only paid half of what id have to from the states, so can’t complain. [;)]
I also ended up getting Airfix’s new 1:72 Stuka. Looks like a really nice kit. I’ll probably build it as a Spanish civil war bird.
Now I just need to decide what my next build will be.
That’s one thing I noticed about the Airfix Skyhawk kit I’m working on. Nicely molded, but the panel lines are a bit deep. The plastic is a bit softer than I’m used to as well. Otherwise it’s a nice simple kit that builds up nicely.
Jimbot - I’m loving that cockpit detail.
Suomi - Looks great! Can’t wait to see her weathered!
Great job Suomi, the colors look fantastic. Decals look like they went on very well. Looking forward to seeing more.
Looks fantastic Suomi…well done thus far…[Y]
Almost finished with my 8 Rad. Just sprayed a base coat of Tamiya German Grey added an oil wash, I’m letting it dry until tomorrow before I place the decals. I also chipped some of the paint and will finish up the weathering at the very end.
Terry
I am liking the look of that Terry.
Hello all! That used to be me! Now my original profile seems to be gone and I can’t get back into it. If the administration can’t fix it, I may just be done with the forum. Good luck all!
Jim
Here is an update to the P-40B
The kit is going together well so far despite the need to trim some thick flashing on the leading edge of the wing roots at the wheel well faring’s to allow the lower half of the wig to fit better. This was a small inconvenience though and have certainly had worse. There is a pretty nice gap at the wing and horizontal stabilizer roots. This shouldn’t pose too much of a problem though.
Even though this is an OOB build, I did add some masking tape belts to the interior. The interior detail is sufficient but begs for more, but since the canopy is molded in the closed position, one wouldn’t see too much anyway.
So far I’m not completely impressed with the kit, but not put off by it either. It is going together nicely with the usual seam joints. The fuselage fit together very well with very little seam and any loss of detail can easily be re-scribed. There will be some needed work to the cowling seams though, again nothing that can’t be handled by a competent modeler.
I will be able to make a nice little vignette out of it I think. Besides, I’ve been wanting to build an AVG display for a while.
Thank you Wayne for allowing me to toss this in. It’s giving me a break from the work intensive Prinz Eugen and Fletcher destroyer.
Steve
Yeah Jim, your post just showed up. I’ve been having to re-logon every time I get on the forum lately. There’s something going on.
i had that happen tha last few days but seems ok now. nice work everyone.
i have used 3 eggs of silly putty for a 1/35 armor pattern. besides you don’t get extra pomts for using less. might be a paint day today. be nice to get base coat on MCV so i can do the tires. washed and dusted the SCUD missile. looks a little better but still a tad rough. may have to get a second kit of this or just move on to the 1/35.
Ye, they made a change to the lg in system to make it more secure. There is a fe wof us that have to log in every visit. We are supposed to get new passwords, but can’t do that either. Theres a thread going about the issue

And an announcment by Aaron.

I had that happen a couple of days ago, and since yesterday I’ve been locked out completely. Since my cell phone doesn’t do internet I’m posting this from my local library.
Wayne my German 8 Rad is finished but i’m still working on a smal diorama that really shouldn’t take that long. I’m posting a few pics of the vehicle and a motorcycle that i’ll be using. I’ll get you finished shots when i’ts completed.
More to come.
Terry
Really nice work Terry. What did you make the flag out of?
I’ll echo Steve there Terry, a gret loking build. And ye, what did you use for the flag. I thought it was a decal at first, but it doesn’t look like one.
It was one of those sheets with multiple size flags that I sandwiched together with a piece of heavier alluminum foil inside.
