2015 Messerschmitt Bf 109 Group Build

Ok folks we’re here for another great Bf109 Group Build for 2015. It’s been 3 years since the start of the last one that was hosted by pzl66. I had such a good time in that one and just as good of a time hosting the Butcher Bird Group build that I decided to get a 109 Group Build together for the start of next year. The build will start on 01 January 2015 and run until 02 January 2016. One important note: There will be no extensions for this Group Build. I did allow for that this last year on the 190 GB for 6 months due to all the fantastic participation and by request from several individuals but it even went past that extension so it’s one year for this GB and it’ll close it out.

The rules are really simple and are my standard “run of the mill” rule set.

They are as follows:

  1. Any scale, any Bf109 variant to include the 109Z.

  2. Any aftermarket items or no aftermarket items.

  3. Crossovers are welcome.

  4. Started builds are fine but please limit construction at the fuselage halves glued together.

  5. You can enter any time within the group build time frame.

  6. Please post pictures of works in progress.

  7. Be social, encouraging and have fun.

Well it looks like its in progress. Thanks Tim!

No problem. Sorry I wasn’t able to move all of the posts over here. There are limits to what even I can do when equipped with only a hammer and hacksaw.

HAVE FUN! (or be entertained, whichever)

Tim

Mustang and SSpartan

I originally went with a ROG Gustav but had for gotten about this beauty, a 1/32 E-7. Trumpeter went all out on this one so this is the one I will be doing.

Here’s my build. The1/48 Academy Czechoslovakian built, Israeli flown Avia S-199.

[URL=http://s1369.photobucket.com/user/modelcrazy12/media/ACD00002202_0_l_zps8c245231.jpg.html]

I’ll also throw in an old Hasegawa 1/32 Bf-109E in the mix as well.

I’m looking forward to not only seeing that build modelcrazy but researching that S-199 subject as well.

Changes to Roster

Need to add the following participants:

lawdog114: 1/48 Hasegawa Bf109 G-6 and a 1/48 Zvezda Bf109 F-2

Ok, so here is my kit…

And my plane will be the second one from the bottom on this decal set.

Brandon I’ve got you in the build roster my brutha! Glad to have you here.

Here’s what I’ll be building, along with some of the goodies being added to what already looks like a awesome kit. To say I’m stoked for this GB would be an understatement. This is going to be epic!

Gotcha in the intro there Mike and thanks for understanding.

Model Crazy… That old Hasagawa is a nice kit, I’ve done that one and like most other kits it has its good and bad points, but is a good base line kit to build on. A llittle PE and some good decals and you can have a beautiful subject.

Looks like everything worked out! Thanks a bunch, Tim!

PJ, I got you added to the build list! I personally prefer the Gustavs over the Emils, but I’m really looking forward to your build of this beauty!

I just recieved my latest issue of FSM today and I have to say your Sea Fury looks absolutely stunning! I might actually have to get me one as well now…

Rigidrider,

Yea, it’s a pretty basic kit. I bought off off eBay for $8.50 free shipping, so anything I get for it shouldn’t throw me too far off my meger budget.

Tim, I am disappointed. And there’s me thinking the almighty came to you for help [;)]

Well, almost getting the ball rolling, here’s my planned builds. First up will be the HPH 1/18th bf 109G DB 605 engine.

And here is a couple of pics of the contents. 2 large bags of resin parts which look very nice. And a CD with the instructions on.

And from top left, a small decal sheet with markings for serial numbers and a nice PE nameplate. A small PE fret. A selection of wire and shrinkable rubber and finally a small Belgian Chocolate which I will be saving until the end.

There is also a stand which had to be purchased separately but is pretty essential, though I don’t have a pic of that.

And for those who may be wondering how big it is, here is the spinner next to a 32nd 109 spinner.

And for a second build I will be doing my first ever 32nd aircraft. Hasegawa’s Bf 109F-4/Trop.

Good to see you here Bish! Yours is in the intro already man.

Some nice stuff you got there, mate!

I’m not entirely sure what exactly i’m going to build for this GB, but the Hasegawa G-6 and the Finnish G-6 from Eduard are definitely on my build list for 2015.

Here’s the other 109 stuff I got in my stash:

I also have a second Hasegawa G-6 and the new Revell G-10, but I didn’t fancy digging those out.

AM goodies include enough sets to completely dress up one of my big G-6s and a few decal sheets…

Count Herman and I in, a 1/32 Trop something…

Got you added, welcome aboard!
