20 mm question for 222 and 250/9.

I an starting a Sdkfz 222 and a 250/9. I am using AM parts an have a question about the 20mm barrel. From looking at the photos that I have found, the 20 mm in those vehicles had a noticably shorter barrel than the ones on the 20mm flack gun. The AM barrels are the longer ones. Does anyone have photos of eather vehicle with the longer barrels or someone who makes the shorter version? Any help or further input would be helpful. Thanks Greg.

I’m not going to vouch for their accuracy, since I have not personally inspected them, but Jordi Rubio makes a 20mm KwK 30 barrel, model # TG-21, which should be appropriate for early versions mounting the Kwk 30. This barrel should be shorter than their TG-13, which is for the 20mm Flak 30.

Their TG-22 is for the 20mm KwK 38, suitable for late model vehicles.

If you can get your hands on one, the Armorscale KwK 38 barrel is a beauty of a replacement…comes with pre-formed brass suppressor with drilled out neck and holes and is very easy to assemble and install. They are out of Poland and most of the major online suppliers carry them but they go in and out of stock frequently, so check around. The KwK and Flak 38 barrels were interchangeable so sometimes you will see vehicles fitted with the longer Flak 38 barrel as a result depending on supply/availability or even crew preference.
