Just finished after a year ans a half of trying
That is an awesome build! Is that a resin body? I don’t remember anyone making that car in styrene? Regardless, really cool.
Greg
Nice job! Lot’s of detail under the hood.
Awesome builds Mark! Your paint and decaling is perfect and I really love all of the extra details you’ve used to put this build over the top.
Thanks , Greg. It was the Revell 1985 Camaro Z28 kit but just about nothing was used from it except the body, the engine block and heads, and basic frame. 80 % was scratch built items from evergreen styrene tubes, strips and sheets.
Thanks, Keavdog. The engine took a lot of changing from the kit to make it look like the race engine. Had to make the intake manifold, Holley carburetor, valve covers, front pulleys and belts, and the headers. Added a scratch built radiator and oil cooler radiator, overflow tank and plumbed it.
Thank you so much. Tom. I spent about a year and a half on the build. I have a link to the wip if you would like it.
Below is the wip if interested in how the build evolved during a year and a half journey.

Even more amazing that you made it out of a basic street car and scratch built most of the rest!
Thank you, Greg, yes, there are no IROC kits available. Thats why I have been putting this one off for a long time. I knew once I started it was going to be a long journey unless I just wanted to do a body only model.
I went through the wip link. Wow. There are multiple parts of this car that are models in their own right! And scratch built to boot!
I really enjoyed going through it. Thanks for posting the link, and the build.
Greg
Thanks again, Greg. I appreciate that you checked out the wip and enjoyed the build. Hopefully future builds won’t take this long.
