1985 MR450 Pershing Missile

Hi, back in the 80’s a company called Marko’s Miniatures made a resin kit of a Pershing 1A Missile / launcher / M775? truck assembly. I have tried in vain to contact John Marko in Germany, and wonder if any one has a kit or kits they would be willing to part with. I am a Pershing Vet and would dearly love one or more. I would also like a copy of the 1985 FSM article regarding the same. Any offers or help in any way can call me directly at [217] 232-6312. I am very motivated!!!

I’m sure that John’s molds are long gone, Marco’s Miniatures has been out of business for about 10-15 years now and his Pershing was an extremely limited production run. I had viewed the kit a couple of times but did not feel that it was worth the price vs quality. I too wanted one badly. An aquaintance of mine was basically scratchbuilding it completely over but I do not know what ever happened to that project. I did not know that John moved to Germany… I believe that he was pursuing a music career. Probably been at least 10-15 yrs since I last talked to him.

I am also a Pershing Vet… I was with B-2/4 Inf, assigned to 1/81 FA, Neu-Ulm FRG 1972-1974. Our FB was at Inneringen.

Good Luck,

Many thanks! John Marco is now producing scale resin WW1 Aircraft engines. His company is “Model Art by Marco” and is available online. I was also at B Co. 2/4 Inf, B Co at good old Nelson Barrachs {not Wiley} first buiding on the right just inside the gate from 1979 - 1981. We followed those dummy missiles all over FRG on so many FTX’s! Needless to say the best kept secret in the Army was Graf and Hohenfels… If anyone could help me find some of these kits, I would be so grateful. I can be reached anytime at {217} 232-6312. MSGT,

Good to meet another B Co. vet! We’re few and far between (at least publicly). I’m wondering if the blue and white company sign that I made was still out front of the barracks during your time there? I was in the 4th plt… bunch of trouble makers but we were the CO’s ‘show platoon’. I finished my stint there as a E4. Could’ve stayed (promised E5) but, I was itching to get back to ‘the world’.

Check out the link below (if you haven’t already) and if you can contribute there, it would be greatly appreciated.
