1967 Shelby Mustang GT500

Anyone know where I could get a kit of the absolutely stunning 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 seen in the film Gone In Sixty Seconds? I’m kinda confused as to how this car was different from the Ford Mustang GT500, but to be honest either car would do. So, does anyone know if there is even a plastic model kit of this car made - preferably 1/24 or 1/20 scale (the bigger the better, basically)? I love this car so much that I just have to have one in my collection!

AMT did a 67 Shelby GT350, which should work. Try either Hobby Heaven, or www.greatmodels.com.

The car used in the movie was not an actual Shelby, it was a standard Mustang equipped with some 67 Shelby features and some “custom” items styled for the movie. I would imagine that the aftermarket will offer the body or accesories to make the AMT kit buildable as the movie car. If you search the Shelby American website you can find a link to Sanderson Sales and Marketing that is hawking “Replicas” of the movie car. I have some personal taste issues with the car and the movie was sorta dumb, but fun.

Well the AMT model seems to be very hard to get hold of, but Revell-Monogram do one, so that’ll do for me!

And yes GISS was a dumb movie, but you can’t help but lurv that sexy Mustang!

Yep…this should do…[:D]

I built that kit (revell gt500) about a year ago and I really liked it. I too like the car from GISS and was thinking tha I’d build a version similar to it. I ended up getting the paint wrong and couldn’t really find the right wheels, so I just built it with some ‘minor’ mods. I thought it was a pretty good kit though…
Sorry, no digital cam yet, so I can’t post any pics (it’s not that great anyways. I was still ‘learning’ how to do many things…)
