1945 GB

Welcome to the next edition of the series of 70th anniversary GB’s. This year we will of course be in 1945. As Sub revolution is still unavailable, this years GB will be hosted by Stikpusher and myself.

Entry for the GB is the same as before. Your build must appear as it did in 1945. It can be air land or sea and none military builds are welcome. And just in case your wonder, what if builds are not included but you can save those for 2016 and a 1946 what if GB. However, anything that was in development and was built but did not enter service in 45 does count, as long as it actually appeared in that year. So for example, the Do 335 prototype or the Centurion tank will be ok. If your unsure, please ask.

As far as military subjects go, some of the campaigns in 45 included the end of the Battle of the Bulge, op Bodenplatte, Vistula Oder offensive, Rhine Crossing, Battle of Manila, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, battle of Berlin, Atomic bombs and many more.

Once again, rules are simple.

1- Any subject, any genre, as long as it looks the way it did in 1945.

2- OOB, or throw as many extras as you like.

3- Crossovers are fine.

4- Progress pics are a must

5- Try and include a bit of back ground info on your build when you have finished.

6- Most important of all. have some fun.

GB begins on 1st jan 2015 and ends on Dec 31st 2015. Sign up any time from now and throughout the GB. Started builds allowed within reason, please ask if your not sure. We will get a badge up soon, so jump on in and enjoy.

Sorry for the delay guys. I wanted to keep the GB badge in line with past GB’s. So here is this years official badge.

And as an alternative option, jack has made us this badge.

Stick is having some problems navigating the new and ‘‘improved’’ forum. I will post all completed builds here and then stick can add them to teh proper roster when he is able.

Eric

Please put me down for USS Shangri-la (CV-38) in 1/700 scale.

Well well, imagine seeing you guys here. Welcome aboard.

I’ll be doing an Airfix 1/72nd P-61B.

Small world, eh?

Looks like the usual suspects are dropping in

Better here than having our mugs on the post office wall.

D@$M you both! [;)] You know I’m in! Not sure what I’ll build yet, but put me in coach!

Eagle90

Stikpusher gave me some inspiration with his awesome B-26 from the D-Day build, so I will try doing my best take on a war wary Monogram B-26.

Sign me up for this build please. I don’t know what I’m going to build yet but I really enjoyed the last one!

I’m In.

I have a couple of things in mind.

I’ll let you know when I decide.

Also What does this mean "It can be air land or sea and none military builds are welcome. It’s from the rules above.

Non military… Lets say a 1945 civil aircraft, ship, or vehicle.

Yea NON sounds better Thanks

I shall like in on this…not sure on what yet though

Ok, I will get all you guys added to the roster once I get home and on my desktop.

Stick, Bish, you know I’m in, can’t resist a GB, keeps me focused, otherwise I’m all over the board and fail to finish anything.

Put me down with a 1/72 Hasegawa 190D.

Good to have all you guys on board. I am sure we will get some new faces along as well.

I’m a new face…at least for this gb

Right now I’m in a ground mood…however I will not be able to start this until I graduate in May, so I do not know what I will be feeling like…

Therefore, I have two builds that I can do for this and I have wanted to do for awhile now…

Italeri 1/35 DUKW

Eduard 1/48 Hellcat Mk. II “Weekend Edition”

I do not know what “mood” (a couple months ago I was all about the aircraft) I’ll be in come this time, but I was wondering what you all would…prefer (yes I’m throwing this up to a vote)…me to build.

The DUKW will be a Marine vehicle at Iwo Jima (Feb 1945) while the Hellcat is a British bird that would have been in Pacific theater prior to and including Okinawa (April 1945) from the research I’ve done, so. What would you all like to see?

I think a DUKW would be nice, especially a Pacific one rather than D-Day.
