1850 Concord Western Stagecoach

Just finished a 1/10 scale Concord Stagecoach ca 1850. I used a kit from Artesania Latina which is like a wood boat kit…a box of raw materials…wood, brass, faux leather. Beyond the diecast lights, every part had to be fabricated from these raw materials. Rather than the red paint favored by these builds, I simply oiled the wood with Danish Oil to bring out the natural beauty of the hardwoods (sapele and walnut) provided.

Very fine craftsman ship :star_struck: Was the lettering included?

Outstanding. I sold a few of these when I worked in the local hobby shop - never seen one completed. I think your choice to use stain versus paint was perfect, it really brings the materials to life.

Wonderful work ScottGMN, and welcome back to the forums. Staining rather than red paint was a brilliant choice. I remember when I was a kid building a Conestoga wagon and a chuck wagon that were the same type of model kit as yours. Of course being a kid, they didn’t turn out nearly as well.

Great job. Really nice finish you achieved.

Kit includes letters to spell STAGE COACH & COMPANY. I thought that was too generic. CHACO is an anagram of COACH. Lucky for me, Chaco is also a Canyon in New Mexico. Thus the Chaco Stage Company was born.

Ah, brilliant. Very resourceful. Also as the others stated, the stain oil makes the model look so good.

Ha! It’s about two times too big for my Clydesdales. However, I just put artist oils on the remaining four last night, finally. SHHH! Don’t tell anyone.

@ScottGMN, your coach looks FANTASTIC!
