Just wanted to fill you in on some info I came across.
Around Xmas 07 we will be able to get our hands on a 1/18 F-4C Phantom II from Admiral toys. Thats not all. 21st Century toys has announced that They will also be releaseing a family of F-4 veriants in 1/18 and 1/32 scales. They anounced that they will be doing the F-4 C,D,E,J,and S models in both scales!!! They say that we can expect to see some nice paint sceams from past USAF,US Navy and USMC squadrons as well some from other nations. The 1/18 F-4 is 42 inches long with a wing span of 25 inches. Sounds like We will need to build an extra room on our houses just to have a place to display them in.
Admiral Toys are also working on 1/18 Hellcat, Dauntless, Skyraider. An Me262 is currently available. If you haven’t seen Admiral Toys products, they are exciting to say the least.
I’ve seen a 1/18th scale ME-109G at Wal-mart, wonder if it’s from the same company? I love the F-4 Phantom and might consider buying one of those and detail it further but I would like to see one come out in a 1/24th kit.
The 1/18th scale planes at Wal-Mart are 21st Century Toys. I have the 1/18th scale F-104 and thought that was big. I was suprised about the details of their large planes, but care is required during assembly although they say for ages 5 and up they really are not ment to be played with by kids. I bought their Mig-15 and had to return it to the store as I couldn’t get it together with out breaking it and I have been building models for almost 20 years and have an engineering degree.
