128mm Flak 40: Looking for 1/35 plans or kit

Hi everyone:
I am looking for a 1/35 scale kit or plans for the WW II German 128mm Flak 40, particularly the twinned version (the Zwilling). Does anyone out there know of such a thing? I want to incorporate it into a 1/35 model of (part of) one of the Berlin Flak towers.

Well, all that I know is that they had made plans to mount a twin flak on a maus. Check the gallery to see a picture. Could get some ideas.

Welcome to the Dark Side Greig, I too have thought about making a flak tower, it would make a really cool looking diorama. I don’t know if anyone makes a twin 128mm flak, but I don’t think they would be cheap if there is one.

yes there is a Zwilling at the aberdeen proving grounds i may have some photos of it from when i went there but not many. i was there 5 years ago so it may no longer be there

Can someone forward plansof 128mm Flak 40 to me?

4 good pics in there, but there’s not enough to start scratchbuilding from. However, they’re very good, high-res images. I would like to scratch one of these beasts one day, but it’ll take some time and MANY good references before that is feasible.

there are pics and a diagram.

They did? [:0] Something like that is going to be my Not Quite Right GB entry! I wonder if it’s “not quite right” if they planned to do it? Then again, there’s something intrinsically “not quite right” about the entire Maus project …

There was actually a German company that made a kit of the Zwilling 12.8. (Peddinghaus?) It’s long out of production. I bought one from a guy, but the kit turned out to be incomplete, pieces missing and all, so I had to return it (it wasn’t his fault). The kit itself was a very old white metal kit, of fairly poor quality by today’s standards.

Someone recently came out with a German 10.5cm AA gun in 1/35th – it’s in the front section of the new FSM. I wouldn’t be surprised if they planned on doing a 12.8 as well – maybe it wouldn’t hurt to write and ask them, rather than killing yourself for six months scratching up a gun, only to have the kit come out …

Airmodel from Germany has come out with the 10.5cm Flak 39, and Attack Models from Poland has released a 12.8cm Flak in 1/72 in resin.

Ah, thanks. I wonder if Airmodel is reachable? We could ask them if they are going to do a 12.8, and/or a 12.8 Zwilling.

That would be great if they do one. And as for the pix, doen’t mean that I couldn’t take more if someone pulled my leg hard enough [:-^][:-^][:-^][:-^]. I probally am going to have to go out there again anyways, considering that I can’t find my 128mb card that has a [censored] load of pics that was supposed to go on my forum topic.

Well, if you do go out there again, it would be cool if you could snap a few more pics. BTW, that thread is prolly the most useful thread in here. References on almost every major vehicle used in WWII. [:D]

Thank you. Like I said, the major reason that I did that thread is that there are a lot of peiople that would never be able to make it out here and I work and live by it so it’s not out of the way for me. As for pics, just let me know of anything that you need more pics of and I will get them to you.
