Like it!
Hello guys[:D]
Alright I have the list updated. Big Blue got you on the list and thanks for joining[snWcm]
GMorrison, The Kaiser should be happy now [t$t] Show’s how much I know about WWI ships!
Mike, Nice work on the badge it gets [Y][Y] from me.
David
Thanks guys! Glad you like it. The text gave me a few fits - lots of experimenting before it looked right.
Dave, this is shaping up to be quite the GB … 21 really talented builders and counting. Great job on getting the word out! A bonified WWI dream team if there ever was one! [Y]
Mike, I’m surprised at the number of members we have. I was thinking not a lot of us would be interested in building another WWI model after the FSM WWI aeroplane build last year.
And if its alight with everyone else I say we make Mike’s badge official for the build.
David
Dave, one can never have enough WWI GB’s. [;)] What’s coming as a suprise to me is just how many dedicated WWII modelers that are willing to step out of their comfort zones and have a go at it. It’s great to see that happening! [Y]
I also took the liberty of trimming down the badge to a more usable size. My only request would be that each participant upload it to their own image site and host it from there. Thanks fellas! [Y]
Nice badge!..dawn patrol…I like it.
Hey, Greysnake. I’ve narrowed my planned build down. 1/32 Fokker D VII (OAW) ‘Rudolf Stark’. Thanks. Looking forward to this one.
Great job on the badge, Mike! Nectar for us who love Nieuports.
I look forward to seeing your Snipe build.
Cheers,
Ernie
Glad you guys like the badge! Dave, I’m still wondering about the figure, armor, and ship guys though … curious as to whether or not they’d prefer a genre-specific badge as opposed to one with wings. Been hunting down some images just in case.
panzerpilot - which D.VII kit are you planning on using? Roden? Wingnut Wings? They’re all great kits!
Ernie - I hear ya buddy! Seeing those has me wanting to pull the trigger on a 1/32 Academy Nieuport 17 or Roden Nieuport 28. [:D]
I think people like GB’s that are a bit different and well thought out. Aside from the FSM GB last year, I can’t say I have seen any other WW1 GB’s, and last years build seems to have peaked the interest amongst those of us who don’t normally build from this period.
Its defiantly off to a good start, now just the wait till kick off.
And nice badge Mike.
Mike, great looking badge! Really like the background scene and wonder if it is a screen capture from that flight sim out from Russia - RISE OF FLIGHT ?
The width is also double size, as it should be for a milestone anniversary. Bold colour choice on the typeface, but it works, and thanks for adding a dark outline around the wording. This really helps when these things get shrunk down.
Taking the above creation, I’ve added medals to give a visual if we go the route of an extended GB, with a medal being awarded for each successive build after the first completion. As can be seen, one would have to be a very busy beaver to fill in the whole breadth of the badge.
regards
Jack
Wingnut Wings. It does seem like a great kit. I especially like the ample detail in the instructions. This one should be really fun!
Really like the Nieuports. but thought the armor might use a hand, would this be a possibility?
Note: edited to better size and clarity
David
Update my build from ??? to the Revell 1/350 SMS Emden. Definitely will have to build a wingy thing as well–lots of 1/72 stuff in the stash–don’t think I can stamp out a ship in a short time. Awesome badges as well!! This GB will be epic!!
Mike, I’ve added the badge to the main page. A big thanks again for making it! As for making badges for armor, ships figures what’s everyone else think about the idea? I tried my hand at making a armor badge before I saw Steve’s post. This was made on Microsoft paint and for whatever reason I can’t get the text a different color other then grey.

If someone wants to play around with it be my guest.
Panzerpilot, Got you updated!
Jack I’ve liked what you’ve done with the badges! Its starting to look like will have enough interest to go four years!
Stevie, I like the badge you made!
Freem, Got you updated.
David
Dave, could you change mine from a D.V to a D.Va. Sorry got my models designations
mixed up. Looking forward to the start date.
Ernie
I like the badge, too. It inspired me to pull a Hobbycraft Nie. 17 out of the stash, so that will be my first subject. In Billy Bishop markings. It looks a little simpler than the WNW DH9a I just finished.
Can’t build models, so tried my hand at badges
Badges?! , we don’ need no stinkin’ Sorry wrong movie
Jack, that idea to add the medals to the badges is brilliant! Looks very cool. I’d love to see that implemented. It’s got my vote. [Y]
Steve, that figure badge is perfect! I wouldn’t change a thing. Nice work man! [Y] I did take a stab at an alternate armor badge. Came up with this…
Panzerpilot, I’m really looking forward to see your work on the D.VII. I built the Alb. version last year and loved every minute of it. As for the WnW instructions, you’ll probably want to hang on to 'em as reference books…they’re THAT nice!
It’s great seeing the entries rolling in. The subject diversity is going to make this GB (to echo freem’s comment) epic indeed!
Ernie and John, Got you updated.
Steve, I like that badge, I’ve posted it on the main page.
Mike, That armor badge is cool! I’ve updated the main page with Steve’s badge as well.
