This was followed by off white fir the final color. Do have a couple spots that i will need to do a little bit of touch up, but this piece is basically done now.
At one point i had managed to drop one of the tail pieces after priming. At the time i did not notice any damage. However the fall managed to crack the piece slightly. So this ment another round of sanding after filling with CA glue.
I filled the hollow of the base, this was done both to add weight to counter balance the figure but to also give some additional structural strength to it.
One thing i wanted to do was to make her socks slightly sheer, and attempted to use clear white to do it. Unfortunately, the clear white did not work as well as i wanted so am just going to try and do it with some thin normal white.
This is however where i have run into an issue. My airbrush decided to completely clog up. So at the moment it is soaking in laqure thinner in the hopes of clearing the clog.
Now an problem I have ran into is with the coat details. I had planned to use a color shift on them, however this did not work. It only shows the color under direct light and when looking directly at it. So will need to grab a light violet from the store tomorrow.
Did the best i could do in the time frame that i have to fix it. As either i did major sanding which would damage parts that had already been glued on, resulting in significantly more paint touch up work, i reprint and totally redo the legs and skirt, impossible to do to meet the contest deadline, or i do the best I can in fixing the paint and it is what it is. It does not look great but its alot better than it did right after gluing.
This was then followed by uniting the body and attaching the tails. I used the base in part to help hold everything in place while the glue set. While waiting for the glue i also painted her nails and for got to take a photo of the work.
Finally i united all the remaining pieces and am calling her done. I will take formal photos of her tomorrow when i have better light. For a bit of a rush job she turned out alright. Thankfully her arm partially blocks her “scar” so its less noticeable. Once again I can live with the results.
Superb job- you certainly would not know there was a breakage from those pictures. It is a very eye catching piece- the bold colors really pop and draw the eye in so you can appreciate some of the smaller details.
