1/720 aftermarket aircraft for Revell Graf Zeppelin carrier

Just checking to see if anyone knows where I can get the aftermarket sets for 1/720 scale aircraft for Revell Graf Zeppelin German aircraft carrier? I believe one type of aircraft is Me Bf-109T. (I think).

Check out White Ensign Models. At one time they did a set of aircraft for this kit, not sure if that is still the case.

I’d be very surprised if there were. I bought it when it first came out, but,on inspection, it turned out to be so horribly inaccurate as to be beyond salvation. It was also produed at the time when Revell made the World’s Worst Decals. It went to the bottom of my stack until I gave it away as a bingo prize three years ago. The little girl who on it was thrilled, as she had just solved the problem of her 8-year-old brother’s Christmas present.

That said, if you really are up for a challenge, Gold Medal Models make 1/700 etched sets for the Bismarck/ Tirpitz, and a generic warship set, both of which may be of use.

I now wish I had gotten a resin kit instead. I’ll just make the best of it and hope it looks good.

I’d be the first to admit Revell’s Graf Zeppelin is far from the best kit ever made, but it’s an interesting subject, a readily-available kit, and something like 1/6 the cost of a resin equivalent. It’s a great “practice project,” especially if you’re thinking of getting into scratch-building, because you can use the basic hull and hone your technique redoing anything or everything else. A little time reshaping guns, adding hatches and ventilators and deck machinery, and refining the air group can result in quite an eye-catching project (the folding-wing Stukas get 'em every time!). Plus, since she never actually went into service, there’s a lot of leeway for interesting camouflage schemes.
One prominent accuracy point on the hull (based on the issue of the kit I did about 5 yrs ago)—the molded boot-topping line is about 1/8 inch too high (compared to drawings in the Schiffer monograph). Also, Tom’s Modelworks does a set for this kit that helps a lot:

Thanks for the replies. Definitely some things to think about. I bought 2 Revell kits for the express purpose of having a decent number of aircraft for the flight deck. I have seen a picture of a folded wing Stuka and that would be impressive indeed. Maybe a resin kit in the future but for now I’ll work on modification and scratchbuilding subassemblies. I’m getting 3 sets of Tom’s Modelworks photoetch for the Zeppelin (because they have props for the aircraft and I’ll be having lots of aircraft). I also ordered the book on Graf Zeppelin by Schiffer Publications.

By the way Gregbale, incredible model there of the Zeppelin! At 1/100 would you say it is about 7 or 8 feet? Amazin’[8D]
