Has anyone heard if Dragon is going to do any WWII Allied armor like M4a3, M10s or M36s. I would think there is quite a market. I would also like to see some modern Russian stuff. Thanks!
Dragon did do three versions of the T-34/76, model 1940, 1941 and 1942. It would be nice to see their Sherman family shrunk down to 1/72 scale though.
As far as the M4A3, M10 and M36, Eduard and ExtraTech (same basic kits) has put out these three kits within the last couple of years. The M4A3 is put out by Eduard in both the 76mm gun and 105mm howitzer. ExtraTech released the M36, M10 and the British version Achilles IIC. My Jackson contained resin and photo etched conversion parts to update the basic M10 hull. Decent injection molded kits that are a little pricey. I found some on sale at Squadron.com.
Here is a list of the various US/UK Sherman-based vehicles made by Eduard and ExtraTech:
#7601 M4A3(76)W
#7602 M4A3(76)W Profipack (w/PE)
#7603 M4A3(105)
#7604 M4A3(105) Profipack (w/PE)
ExtraTech kits:
72028 Achilles IIC
72029 M10 Wolverine
72030 M36 Jackson (includes some PE and resin)
72033 Achilles IIC ExtraPack (includes some PE and resin barrel)
72034 M10 Wolverine ExtraPack (includes PE)
72035 M4 Early
72036 M4A3E2 Jumbo
72040 M36 Jackson ExtraPack
72041 Firefly IC
Heard Dragon was planning a M-26 for 2006. Think there were a couple other allied pieces as well but can’t remember.
Dragon has announced item DR 7271 M4A3(76)HVSS and item 7272 M4A3E2 Jumbo due out some time in 2006

I believe it is Pegasus who will put out the M26 and Trumpeter will distribute it. I wonder what we can expect from Italeri and Airfix. Both normally put out old kits in this range, but both have put out new kits in their range as well (Italeri DUKW & M8, Airfix CCKW, Jeep & LCVP).
