This should be a quick build. I think this should be in ships although not a ship, more of a simi-fixed fortification on a ship 
This thing is massive and it will take longer to paint than build.

I would love to see an ARIZONA turret model like that. I would build it as one of the shore installations there on Oahu.

I don’t know if they make AM for it yet. It does come with some PE.
I do have the Bismarck’s Bruno turret on the way. I have either read, seen or heard that Takom is also coming out with the 16" Iowa turret. You never know about the Arizona, maybe the KGV as well.
Japanese ships are not my thing but this looks interesting. I plan on getting the Bismarck turret as well, so will be nice to get an idea of what to expect.
Thanks Bish. For me, Japanese equipment, aircraft, ships, armor are intriguing. My favorite plane is the Zero, carrier, the Akagi, capital ship, just about any of the heavy cruisers. The tanks were good at what they were designed for, infantry support. Not until the end of the war were they designed to go against other armor.
There’s not a lot to the kit, very few seams to fill and a quick build. One could finish the build in one setting if you didn’t use filler. The paint is what’s going to take any time at all. I suspect thr Bruno will be similar.
I should be getting that in a few weeks and will start on it promptly thereafter.
Have they ever found the turrets for the Bismark? The last shots I have seen of her, there were no turrets on board. How far could they have fallen from the ship?
I think I saw a interview somewhere of a member of the Tirpitz that a bomb hit the ship and their “B” turret was blown out of the ship and landed on some crew members that were swimming to shore.
Depending on when she capsized, and depth, they could be a couple miles away. Most hulls will self right as they fall through the water column, and tend to “sail”.
GH is correct, plus the hull slid down a mountain slop for some distance leaving the turrets far behind.

As for Bismarck, one main turret was found, but down stream of the hull in the slide area, probably a ships length or so away from the ship.

I got quit a bit done to the Yamato turret. This is a neat kit. Easy build, good fitting parts with just a few adjustments on the rangefinders. While the filler is drying on the rangefinders, I assembled the barrels, which will need some work to get smooth.
Once I have everything sanded down, I will install the railing. Takom supplies some monofilliment for the railing but that won’t allow the sag shown on the limited pictures avaliable. I’m thinking stretched sprue but will have to give that some thought.
That is big, looking good.
Two things, the first being about Bismarck et al. I have most of the Ballard books on his explorations. Thus have lots of reference material handy.
The second thing; concerning railing chains. There is a type of fabric string, used commonly in drapery tassells that has that same ‘catanary’ sag like chain. You might want to check it out.

Does it come with any figures? Now I’m convinced I’m going to get the Bismark turret.
Chad, no, but 1/72 figures are easy to find. I can’t seem to find any 1/72 Japanese sailors though.
You could always display it like it was in a museum and put just aboiut any type figure near it you want to. You wouild think that somwthing that large woiuld have rifling in the barrels.
