Hi,
Just wanted to show you all what a sweet little kit the Revell 1/72 PzKpfW IV Ausf.H is to build, even for a dumb airplane guy like me! I tried to paint the tank commander figure to pose in the hatch, but figure painting just ain’t one of my strengths! Also, I realize that it’s sitting on grass, and without tread indentations in the pics, but it’s an Aircraft background I use a lot and it’s better than a manila folder!! Hope you all enjoy my second foray into the awesome world of armor since childhood…Now, where is that Dornier 335A I was looking for…?
Yes it is a sweet little kit. BTW, it matches perfectly up with the older Matchbox Stug 4. I mean like with almost no filling needed. Throw in the edwurd photeched kit, and you have the makings of a month long project. Also who do you do your picture hosting thru, i’m trying to figure out how to post. Great job. As for the figre painting. For faces in this scale i do a base coat of flesh, followed by a wash of burnt sienna. Gives nice detail with out all the messy work. Happy Bill
Looks good!
Looks great. Another great entrance to the forum. Seems like theres been more small scale recently than large.
Looks great. Is the kit still in production? I may have to pick one up.
Hey, thanks for the kind welcome, guys!
Happy Bill, the PE sounds like a good idea, maybe on my next one! I do my own photohosting through my website, www.scalewarbirds.com. You may want to try www.photobucket.com as they’re free and will provide a decent amount of space for you to use.
Thanks, Latch!
Thanks lizardqing…I have a 1/35 Dragon SdKfz 171 Panther A “Early Type” on the pile…now I’m a bit more comfortable, and may move it up the “priority” list!
Keyworth, I think it’s a recent release…Revell-Germany, I think, actually. Picked it up last week at Hobbytown USA for $10.25…so it’s probably $8 or 9 everywhere else, but still not a bad deal. I was pretty impressed by the level of detail on this thing!
Looking sweet and nice! More please!
Very nice jkelleycrna. I agree with Domi. More please. Thanks for sharing.

Looks pretty nice. One small critique, the baffle on the end of the barrel looks wrong. The holes should be aligned with the side of the barrel. Keep em coming.
Eric -Tigerman - is right! Well spotted!
Forget the grass indentations, Jkelley. Thats a very nice build. I like the weathering you used. Great job and nice photos by the way!
Very well done (even if you are one of those Fly-Boys [;)] )
Thumbs Up!
Cool, Nothing but respect for you fellas who build braille scale…Great Job!
Nice job! Thanks for posting. It’s good to see so much small scale being posted. And ‘everyone’ says that Braille Scale is dead and nobody builds it! Lol!
Now I need to go out and get an ‘H’…
your an airplane guy??? lol it makes me wonder what Im capable of.
Thanks, you’re right…although I would’ve not known that even if it bit me! Funny thing is, the barrel has a tab that fits the mantlet only one way (as seen in the pics). You have to drill out the barrel opening as well, as it is “sealed” off despite the open baffle. Other than that, I guess, a straight-forward build. Thanks for all the nice compliments one and all!
JK
Great job on the tank…Jkelleycrna
I just received a Revell 1/72 scale Panzer Mk.III Ausf M in the mail and can’t wait to start!
Regards, Dan
…that is wonderful…thank you…jeffl
