First post on this site. I’ve been lurking around and reading y’alls posts and looking at the great builds on here. I’ve posted this build on another site but I thought I would post it here as well. I built this model with the thought of what if the rocketeers had recieved A-10B’s Instead of F-15E’s that would over the years would have been upgraded to A-10E’s. I used cockpit parts from a revell f-15E, the seats are aires, decals are from Two Bobs and print scale. I used a donor Academy A-10A to fill im smoe gaps from the Hobby Boss kit. This was a really fum build. I gave it a Digital Scheme of Euro 1 gray, Gunship Gray, and Green Drab. It was weathered using The Detailer ready to us washes black and brown. I also put in some field touch up spots to cover up battle damage. This is my second model after about a 20 year lull from the hobby. Hope you enjoy it, comments good and bad welcome
thanks for the feedback, it took about 3 to 4 hours to mask each color. I let each color dry for 2 days before applying tape for the next color. Still has some come up with the tape but not to much. Here is a pic before the weathering so you can really see the scheme. and also a pic of me just playing around with the sun.
Great Job, I always thought the Congress screwed up by not buying that bird. I worked at the CTF at eddies when it was under test and was such a great bird. One thing, I think your tails are canted forward to much the bottoms should be parallel to the ground BUT I could be wrong as its been a few years since it flew!!!
Thanks for the comments. As for the tails they where installed using the tabs that came on the kit. I might could have twisted there might have been enough play to twist them back a tiny bit. But not nearly enough to get the bottom to sit level with the ground. I have another hobby boss a-10 single seater. I’ll look at It when I get home to see how they sit
