Here is my diorama of a F-100F Wild Weasel leaving on the first successful mission on Dec 22, 1965. It’s the Italieri kit with Trumpeter wings and cockpit, vacuform canopy, Velinden Remove Before Flight tags and Hasegawa equipment and figures. I added the various antennae and air scoops and modified the tail to match the real plane. Used Tamiya weathering pastels for the burnt exhaust.
I’ve included a picture of the actual aircraft

Great job. Always liked the F-100, actually all of those jets with the gaping mouth intakes. Nicely done.

Ben, that is and amazing diorama. You’ve got the components positioned perfectly. It easily tells the viewer what’s going on in your scene. Great job on the figure too. And lastly, the jet!!. Great paint job and construction. I never thought of using pastels to simulate scorch marks on metal. Great idea. Thanks for sharing this.

Thanks! Shep Paine’s book on dioramas lays it all out. I had that book for 30 years before I finally was able to build one. This is my third. Tamiya has weathering pastels I used.
