1/72 Italeri B-57G Canberra

Hi everyone ,

Here’s some pic’s of 1/72 Italeri B-57G Canberra I just finished .

It was OOB build except for the Cobra Company resin cockpit tub and seats . I also cut the rear elevators on the tail planes to pose the in the dropped position along with the tail fin , airbrushed with Gunze acrylics . I really struggled painting the tips of the bombs yellow . I tried hand brush painting , which looked awefull , then I tried masking an airbrushing the yellow and that wasn’t much better . Finally I just cut some yellow decal into thin strips and went with that . I’m disappointed with my efforts on the bombs but I’m happy with the overall build .

John .

Looks good! I’m relatively new to the hobby (stopped building planes when I was kid, built cars for the past 15 years or so and now back into aircraft) — what technique did you use for airbrushing the camo?

Very nice build! The dropped elevator is a nice touch. What did you use to mask the camo?

Mike

Thank’s guy’s ,

For masking the camouflage ppatten I like to use ‘blu-tack’ , rolled into thin strips like spaghetti .

Here’s a link to some masking and airbrushing WIP pic’s that I posted in the Night Fighter GB

I use the same process for all my camouflage paint schemes

That’s a great looking model of an aircraft I know nothing about- what is that under the nose??

Here’s a pic from the Robert C Mikesh B-57 Book

Ah… thanks, Helo. Function over form in this case…

And theres me thinking you just did choppers. Lovely looking build.

Mugly other, eh?

Great build. I’m a big fan of the Canberra. The best way I’ve found to paint the stripes on bombs is to paint the yellow first then mask it and paint the od
