A simple of depiction of the morning of April 30, 1975, as a lone CH-46 from HMM-164, code named “Swift 2-2” lands on the rooftop of the US Embassy in Saigon in response to radio calls from the remaining US Marine Embassy Detachment. At 7:53am it lifts off after MSgt J.J. Valdez becomes the last Marine to board the chopper. It’s pilot announces over the radio “Flight Command, this is Swift 2-2, the last eleven are out.”
The helipad was scratchbuilt from wood and some of the chopper decals are from PrintScale decals. As always all comments and critiques are greatly appreciated.
