1/72 Eduard Nieuport 17

First model post, second stringbag. Hope my link to pics works.

This is the super cheap Eduard bagged version, no PE or anything…single set of decals. Markings are for Czechoslovak airforce 1919. Kit went together great and rigging wasn’t too bad (first timer). Mostly Tamiya acrylic flat aluminum, with grey oil “streaking/wash”, cowl is polished MM aluminum. Wood parts are streaked oil over wood acrylic. Enjoy and would love comments/critics etc. (fixed paint around wheel covers after pictures, please ignore)

Well done! Looks great, even without photo etch. Very nice!

Looks great, especially for the scale. Rigging that thing would have make me bonkers [D)][8-][party]

Very, very nice. I’m working on one of these tiny wonders myself (a Sopwith Triplane, same scale), so I know how tiny that sucker must be.

I must ask the question that is ALWAYS asked with biplane builds, though- what did you use for rigging?

Thanks for responses all! Great to finally show something on here, I’ve been lurking for awhile. Rigging is smoke colored mending thread from craft store sewing section. I drilled holes where it attaches then threaded through, which allowed a really good tight fit. Snipped off ends the filled/sanded/polished holes in wings. Worked pretty well I think. Got the Eduard dual kit of the Ni-23 I’m starting now, with PE and all the goodies. Should be fun.

Looks great. Thanks for sharing.

Very well done! Especially on the Rigging- That looks like it was a monster to complete from my eye![8D]

Really nice !

The rigging is very fine and tight - hard to get in 1/72 scale. Pretty plane !

Chris

I cannot believe how much you have packed into that little gem! Can’t even imagine rigging it. Like the wood effects on the prop- well done.

Since you mention ahving more WWI kits in the works, I shall mention a Group Build I am hosting here at FSM dedicated to aircraft from WWI. Here’s a link to it:

Knights of the Sky II

We just started two days ago, and it runs through the end of August. We would love to have you build over there with us! [^]

Again thanks for comments. On my way over to the group build, which will also be a first.

MY GOD THAT IS SMALL. Great build.
