1/72 Builds for 2005..... I'm interested in what others would like to build. Here's mine.

Academy or other F-15D Eagle.

One build for 2005 ? Not very ambitious are we ? My main interest is 1/48 scale, but in 1/72 I’ve started the Academy P-38 & committed to the Sword Sikorsky S-43 for a GB. Also want do do another Tamiya P-47D Bubbletop. After that, it depends on how the wind blows.

Regards, Rick

I have several 1/48 items in mind for 05. The 1/72 world is waiting for me to do the Lockheed A-12 Blackbird. It requires combining the Italeri or Testors SR-71 front fuselage and the Italeri or Testors YF-12 rear fuselage and wings/engines. The nose has to be reshaped some and the second cockpit deleted. The A-12 was the first of the 3 major Blackbirds and to the best of my knowledge, no one has kitted it.
Way, Way out on the back burner is the AMT B-52H backdated to about 1964 and then add the two Lockheed G-21 Blackbird drones under the wings. The drones are easy to get from the Monogram or Hobbycraft SR-71, but the mount pylons and solid fuel rocket booster strapped to the bottom of the drone will have to be scratch built. Also the retrograde mods to the BUFF to get rid of the EVS, Phase VI ECM, etc. [alien]

I just bought a Hasegawa P-38J D-Day commemorative kit that I will start soon. Also an F-104G for a friend in Germany.

Other than that, I need to finish:

An F-86 that was started two years ago.

A BV 141 that was started last spring (painted, decaled, and all but the extremities to finish, but for some reason I just haven’t)

An Me P1101 that is supposed to be for the Paper Project build.

I have so many other kits staring at me and just begging to be built, but at my rate…who knows?

I have so many to choose from! What I hope to get done are Monogram’s B-52 converted to a B-52F and Testor’s B-2. These are in addition to anything else that happens to call out to me.

I’d go along with a 1/72 Blackbird! Other than that, there’s the 1/72 Concorde…

Hey Rick, don’t knock it! I finished one kit in 2004 and I’m 3/4 of the way done with another. I can’t speak for the original poster, but working full time and going to grad school part time puts a dent in my modeling time.

More to the point, I tend to take on kits that require more work than normal, and I tend to try new techniques with each kit – both tendencies mean that I take more time to build than I would otherwise.

The upside is that I get a huge sense of accomplishment when the kits finally come togehter. [:)]

Anyway, I’ve got a moderate cache of kits to build, but I think my next one may be the 1/72 Revell F-14D. After that, I’d like to work on my Roden Fokker D.7. I bought a photoetch set for it that will be my first attempt at working with PE.

Regards,

I just bought the Italeri C-47 Skytrain, which i will paint in D-Day markings. And then
there’s the Me 109 and Astro Anson both by Airfix which a need to finish.

Im halfway with the…

Revell P-47D and Grumman Tracker[:D]

I have Hasegawa’s He 111 H-6, Revell AG’s Ju 290 A-5, an old Haegawa B 17 F and Huma’s Me 263 lined up for the start of next year.

On my wish list for February ([(-D][(-D][(-D]) is Revell’s He 177, Special Hobby’s me 264 Amerika Bomber and their YP-59

That should keep me busy until March (2006?)!

After taking my wife out for shopping, my baby girl to the Gymboree, walk out the dog and the trash out, in my spare time, I’m planning to finish a Hasewaga Su 27 Flanker B and the line up is as follows:

Astrokit Ju87 B with PE
Fujimi Ju 87 D with PE & Resin
Airfix P51D w Aeromaster Decals
Hasewaga F15 E & F15 C
Roden Fokker DVII w Aztek Decals.

This will keep me busy for the next year.

Regards
Saul

Well as soon as I finish my newly started Tyhpoon build , I’m planning on building some bigger planes such as Italeris H111-H6 which I’m planning on converting into an H22 version, Minicrafts B24J which will be a good kit and then maybe a B17G and some smaller aircraft like academys Ju87G and Hasegawas P51.

Right now, I have nine kits waiting for me![party]. I’m working on an A-4F Skyhawk(but won’t get that done before the end of the year). Some of the items in my “to build” stack for 2005 include: Hasegawa F/A-18E, Special Hobby F2G, Revell Tornado GR.1 and Harrier GR.7, Hasegawa F11F-1 Tiger and an Italeri A-36A Apache (listed as a P-51[%-)]. Despite the number of kits on my list, I still continue to seek more kits. I have plans for a F-4 Phanton Phamily (F-4B/F-4E/RF-4), a series of “Century” fighters (F-100, F-105D/G, F-104, F-101/RF-101 and F-111A), and some Korean War participants (F-86F/F9F-2 etc.). I think this is a five-year plan! I doubt my wife would agree with this ambitious plan! I think I need to build a few more shelves[:D]. Have a great New Year! Frank

Id like to do a skunkworks build, Maybe a C130 gunships build, Id also like to do a maybe a PBY blackcat. Iv got so many ideas floating around in my head it would take me alnight to list them, But my main focus right now is going to be geting through all of the builds I have going right now, Iv got The F14 GB the pacific GB the Nav GB that is about finished, Iv got the Mig GB as well as the Blacksheep corsair GB so as you can see for the next 4 or 5 months Im going to be building like crazy. Every thing here is 1/48 scale with the exception Of the corsair Im hoping to do that in 1/32 scale.

Hmm, let’s see…

ICM TB-3/I-16 ‘Zveno’

B-36 ‘Tom-Tom’ (wingtip parasite project in the '50s or '60s), motorized.

Revell Germany’s He 177, possibly modified with a 50 mm cannon in the gondola (used against Stalingrad).

Bv 222, also possibly motorized. (And including the newly made beaching dolly)

Throw in a couple of Luft '46 projects.

Possibly a Ju 390 to join my hopefully-completed Ju 290Z. And why not, motorize that sucker, too!

The Phoenix from the 2004 version of ‘Flight of the Phoenix’. Now just to find a 1/72 C-119…

A Corsiar prototype fitted with contra-props.

Hm. Is that enough? [;)] First and foremost, though, I need to finish my Ju 290Z I got on the workbench right now.

Hey Luc, better include a new storage/display space project for all those big birds!!! I thought my list had too many big birds in it but yours doubles it easily. [^]
