Until recently, the only representation in the sky of a Luftwaffe Bf-109 was a fanciful finish on an Ha1112 Buchon, that was the motivation behind getting this kit and applying this paint job.
Here is the Pegasus 1/72 Hispano-Aviancio Ha1112 dressed up in Eagle Strike Augsburg Flyers PtII decals. The kit’s only winning point is the simple fact that it is the only Buchon I could get my grubby little paws on. The plastic is soft - deep puncture wounds had to be removed when my cat ran off with one of the wings, and the panel lines are rough without consistency. There are lineing holes / pins / marks / tabs, providing some when aligning, locating and mounting the wings and stabilizers, and a real barrel of monkeys when it came to the spindly landing gear. There is also minimal detail.
The only changes I had to do was to chop off the wing cannon mounts and transform the four-bladed prop to a three blade’r.
Since 1/72 was somewhat aggravating for this plane, I have purchased Hobby Craft’s 1/48 rendering of the Buchon. It will also be finished as a Luftwaffe bird when it makes it way to the forum.
