1/72 Academy Fi-156 Storch and Kubelwagen *** Complete***

All,

Here are some pictures of my finished Fi-156 from Academy. The kit went together well except for the cockpit area which is composed of several pieces of clear which was a pain to do.

The car was the first time I have used pigments and filters.

The car is very small but came out pretty good.

Nice job on both, Mr. Man![t$t]

Thanks Fermis! A compliment from a master is appreciated.

Very nice squiggle job !

And a suitably dusty Kubelwagen, too !

Great job !

Build those small kits in your stash while your eyes let ya.[;)]

[t$t]

Thanks Goose! They were pretty small. Well the Storch was a good size, the wing span was pretty long, but that car…man I was afraid I would sneeze and loose some parts.

Magnific work Herc [t$t] the 156 is a good missed in my collection.

Recently read about the “otto” kubelwagen is owned by the luftwaffe ace marseille .

Ciao bsyamato thank you for the Compliment. The academy offering went togethr well the pit is very sparse but it is pretty small so you cant see much even with all the glass. I really enjoyed doing the car and it is tempting to dabble in the dark side lol

Some month ago i get the fw-190 a8 from academy… i see after the same with kubelwagen at only 1€ more [:XX] aargh!

Actually the storch is one of top prices from academy ww2 subjects, i suppose the kit is good ,how you judge it?(naturally out of decals [:$] )

Hercmech outstanding builds! The cammo job on the Storch is very nicely done, you deserve to be proud of both !

Nice looking build there. I know what you mean about the cockpit. I started on the other Academy Storch kit a few years back, but really buggered it up. I have just been looking at getting a new one and trying again.

Are those OTTO markings decals or did you paint those on.

Nice job! [Y]

bsmatayo: The kit went together pretty well except the cockpit was a pain.

Trey: Thanks for the comments

Bish Thanks! The markings are decals they really settled in…I wish the ones on the A/C did as well. The tail markings came from a seperate sheet as Acacdemy does not include them’

Buckeye: Thanks for the comment and for looking!

Academy ain’t known for their good decals are they, i’ve read alot of bad things about them. I have AM decals for most of my Academy kits, i think i might try the same when i get a new Storch kit.

No they are not. THe decals were really thick and did not respond to anything I put on them from Microsol to Mr Softer. However the OTTO responded really well.

after builded more than 30 academy kits (from earlier till newest) i must confirm the decals war… probably they not change this because the decals supplier is some family member [whstl]
