1/72 A-7D by Hobby Boss - Finished

This is my recent build, Hobby Boss A-7D Corsair. I was planning to build another Phantom to enter the UK Nationals and planned to open some panels but when I saw this Sluff, I changed my mind. HB already opened avionic’s bays for you so dont need to worry of scratch building and buying after market resins.
Building is straight forward and it didnt have any major problems except misaligned holes in the bombs for attachments and missing pitot tubes. Its not included and this is my entry for OOB category, so scratch building it is a no no.
Nothing special done but manage to get a medal from the recent Scale Model World (OOB category)

enjoy.

Very nice work on the SLUF. I have a soft spot in my cold, cruel heart for Viet Nam era aircraft.

That really is a smart build of this aircraft, especially in 1/72 scale! You should be rightly proud of this build. [tup]

Great looking Corsair II. Excellent work [tup]. What technique did you use to replicate the yellow sealant on the canopy/windscreen ? It looks as good as any I’ve seen.

Regards, Rick

Thank you, sirs.

the yellow sealant are decals included in the kit.

Wow! What a truly great build! I love the panel lines. I think this is the first build I’ve seen in a really long time where the subtlety of the panel lines were so well done as opposed to SCREAMING out you in toy-like fashion. I’m a firm believer in the “less is more” school of thought.

Same goes for the F-4. Could you please share how you did the panel lines on both kits?

Thanks!

Eric

Beautiful job, especially in that small scale.[tup]

very inspiring comments, giving me reasons to build another.

i start by painting the panels first with you normal colour, then slowly mist the middle of the panel. by this you saving your black paint. you can also add black or white to your colour then touch it up, giving you different shades. then do your panel lines with your wash.

it save time and money.

That’s really top drawer work. Very, very well done.
