Many years ago, as a teenager in the late 80s, I built models of the USS Enterprise (CV-6), and of the HMS Ark Royal (R-09). At that time my focus was on building things fast, and using all the parts. I rarely took the time for research, or even painting the complete model.
Recently I found these two ships, and took the opportunity to revisit them with the goals of painting them to look more realistic, while getting practice with weathering techniques as I have several ship model new build projects lined up. I will post the before picture here, and reply with pictures of each.
