Hello all, I have just finished my static 1/6th scale German SDKFZ 234/2 Puma armored car. The model is a battleground vehicle plastic body and features a lot of scratch built components including a working suspension, which also steers. More of my model can be seen on the following website
From the looks of the one picture you must have a lot of room for these. I have 2 of the M5 Stuarts and always wanted something else but the size and space is a killer.
Great choice in the paint scheme. How long does something like this take to build? Did the tool box come with the kit or did you make it?
But the one shot you don;t have up there is the one that goves a comparative size–can you put it next to something so we can get a better sense of it’s size?
Thanks all for the compliments. I hope to keep more of these pieces rolling for your board. On average these models take me three months to complete, some models require more time due to the tooling up of the resin and metal detail components, which I offer on my website to up detail these kits. The Rotomold plastic kit itself can be found on the following website http://www.plasticpanzers.8k.com/photo_2.html. The kit supplies you with a basic hull, wheels, and other components. On my build I eliminated most of the molded in details and replaced them with my own resin and metal versions. All of the sheet metal tool boxes and tool clamps are scratch built. I also modified the kit to make the side storage fender boxes functional.
/forums/917563/ShowPost.aspxThe two tanks in the background are two 1/6th scale M10 Tank Destroyers that are being built. They will be built similar to this model that was posted on this board a few months ago. http://www.eastcoastarmory.com/can_opener.htm
In this image there is a 1/35th scale Puma placed onto the model’s engine deck.
Wonderful model! The level of detail is impressive.
I’ve always loved large models. In addition to armor, I also model 1:20.3 trains. Once you do a model of something in a larger scale, the smaller ones have a hard time measuring up.
Again, great work and keep posting as you complete other projects. Thanks.
Really amazing! I do not know how you did it. Where do you get a model like that and how much does it go for? I would be afraid some kid would see it and think that it is a cool tool.
