So since there was a long period where I was not posting things to this forum there is a bit of a backlog on stuff I need to post. So first up is a look at Zvezda’s 1/48 LA-5FN kit.
I recently built the Zvezda BF-109F4 and found the kit “over engineered” as you say. The detail was very high and fit was great. It built into a really nice model, one of my best. I am a detail junky and I really enjoy adding as much as I can to these, so the Zvezda fit the bill for me very well.
I am glad you reviewed this one as I have been eyeing it for awhile now and was curious if it were designed similar to the 109, and clearly it is. So, that seals the deal for me. When I am ready for a La5-FN, I will be getting this one.
Thanks,
BK
Very nice Zevezda, nice preview/review as well!

Nice review. I have it in the stash and it will make it to the bench someday. I too built their 109 F and must agree it’s a bit over-engineered. I still prefer the Hasegawa 109.
Good info. I have the Eduard limited edition boxing of the Czech La-5FN using the Zvezda sprues that I plan to build next year. I’m looking forward to it!
