A nice quick build, must say it is a weird looking aircraft. OOB build, the decals were not the best in this kit, glossy/matt patches, like there were not printed right.
Painted with Tamiya, Gunze and Vallejo acrylics, Vallejo Metal Color, Flory Dark Dirt wash, a bit of pigment and Vallejo Matt Varnish.
Looks like you wouldn’t want to fall even just a bit behind the power curve when coming on-board in this bird. With that high stance, visibilty must have been pretty dicey when landing. Catching the wire must have been a case of cross your fingers and pray.
Very nice! The early British jets have a unique design that characterize the beginnings of the modern era. It’s fun to see one built, especially as well as yours.
Great model of a pretty good airplane. Supermarine only really ever built two more jets after that, the Swift and the Scimitar. Both had tricycle gear.
Whatever visibility issues existed, that was in the time of monster engines like the Griffon, Centaur or R-2800 on the front of big burly prop aircraft. Sea Fury and Corsair come to mind.
