1/48 Trumpeter Fairey Albacore Torpedo Bomber

Another nice easy build from Trumpeter, bar the rigging of course. I had to look at the box art and reference photos for the rigging, as it is not shown in the instructions, also there is no antennae in the kit for the top of the wings, so I made one myself (Funnily enough, Trumpeter’s 1/72 Mig-31B/Bm which I did recently didn’t have the spine antennae in the kit either)

Camo is Gunze for the grey and green, and Mission Models for the Sky, also used Tamiya acrylics, Vallejo metal colours, oil paints for weathering, Flory Dark Dirt wash, and a final coat of Vallejo Matte Varnish.

As mentioned, an easy and relatively quick build, really enjoyed this one.

Very nicely done! Might have to add this model to the stash one day

Excellent model, Grant. The camo finish is so realistic, the flying and landing wire rigging is first rate. Thanks for the post and photos, very enjoyable to see.

Another beauty Grant. Always liked the story of if the Albacore. Built to replace the Swordfish but ended up out of service before the Fish

As alway, an excellent build Mr. Dazell. I really enjoy your fantastic builds!

Your friend, Toshi
