Wow! Very nice! That looks like a complex build, for sure. How long did it take you, and how big are they?
Many Thanks!
Both models are almost 22"in length.
Really not sure of build time…A month perhaps. And that was more for all the intricate painting.
Very nice job, as always.
Did you use the metal motor parts?
Very nice indeed. [Y][Y]
And thanks for the nice memories of watching Barbara and Marty back in simpler (kid) times.
Wow really well done on a what I would think is a very tedious construction/painting challenge! I think this was probably my all time favorite spacecraft design from the scifi TV and movie worlds.
On the Eagle 1 I have replaced all the large plastic engine bells with the alluminum replacement parts. Eagle 2 has the plastic parts air brushed with metalized paints, buffed out to a high sheen. As soon as I am able however, I will be replacing those with the Alluminum parts as well.
Thanks very much indeed!
You know, your builds actually look better than the studio models I remember watching on TV. I watched some of the episodes, but I think my family watched some other program on TV that same night it came on.
Many sincere thanks!!
I had to make a supply run, so I brought my 1/48 Eagle 2 to my Hobby shop (AAA HOBBIES) to show the guys!
After it’s detailed a bit more, The model will be on display at AAA Hobbies and Crafts!
I’ll post when so you guys can stop by and see it!
Thanks!
Yup! I took this from “The Last Sunset”
exactly, the studio models look like models, his build looks like an actual lander that could have existed!
Again, many,many humble thanks indeed!
A quick video of the model in action!
Thanks!
Like something straight out of Captain Scarlet or the Thunderbirds!
