May be a silly question but does anybody know if Tamiya is going to release a 1/48 scale Willys Jeep? I would like to have two or three 1/48 Jeeps without having to bid on Bandai on E(vil)bay.
Yes, I believe Tamiya is coming out with a 1/48 scale Jeep. Wait a bit and you will see some of the less valuable Frog or Fuman boxings of the Bandai Jeeps hitting eBay cheap. Those are not bad Jeeps though.
Verlinden did one in resin, #1301 as did Pend O’reille, #A119. The Propaganda Kompany in France does several resin ones as well.

Tamiya hasn’t announced a 1/48 Jeep to my knowledge, but it would be a logical choice with their new emhasis on 1/48 scale. Have to wait & see.

Figures… as soon as I start my Bandai and SOL 1/48 Jeep’s this happens.
I’m actually looking forward to Tamiya’s release. You can never have enough Jeep’s when doing diorama’s for planes. Just hope they make more 1/48 scale US WWII vehicles one might have seen on the airfields back then. Most are tough to find these days.
