1/48 revell p-40b

nicknamed hawkenstein 2.

well here she is. approximately 400 pieces. 21 kit pieces, 3 resin. the rest are made up of styrene rod, tube, and sheet, soda can, wire, and putty. all told a pretty fun experience, although when i went to attach the landing gear i had a slight mishap, i broke off the prior lines. had to redo both gear.

Outstanding work Joe-your time, effort & skill really stand out on this one.

That is sweet!!! BEAUTIFUL work on this classic kit! Just curious about the canopy hood angle and where is the propeller?

thank you for your kind words.

at some point this will be part of a dio. it will be a mechanic’s dream. that is why no panel on the nose and no prop. the canopy was another issue all together. i could not get it to sit right. i wanted to have it slightly open. i am trying to create the illusion that it is at the point where the canopy is just hitting the point where it is going to lock down.

thats my story and i am sticking to it.

It is hard to believe how well these old jewels can turn out, if the right person gets a hold of one. You should be very proud of your acheivement, I know I would be. [:D[

many thanks for the kind words. if one with skill worked this it would be a real gem.

Love your P-40 Joe!! The engine area looks awesome! I have an E model I keep pulling out of the stash and drooling over. Maybe after this Spit, recon panzer, and 190 are cleared out I will start it!

Heck yeah!! Man, that is beautiful! You should be darn proud of that one, Joe. Great work!! [Y]

many thanks for the kind words.

HI , JOE !

Hey , over the years I have built a few of these birds . Can I get a tutorial from you ? Mine NEVER looked that good . Tanker-builder

many thanks for the kind words.

tb not sure i would do a good tutoria… it would be “r” rated for language and violence.

to be honest it is easy to do this type of thing. anyone can do it.

joe
