1/48 Monogram F-102 Completed

Another build in the books. This is the classic Monogram F-102 Delta Dagger in 1/48 scale, part of their century series. I built it out of the box. Rescribed the fuselage and kept the raised panel lines on the wings.

I used my vinyl cutter and painted on much of the lettering and other markings. Only the smaller markings and the stars and bars are decals. The bumble bee stripes on the nose and tail, lettering along the fuselage, anti glare, anti skid, candy stripes on pitot, and USAF on the wings are all painted on.

A mix of enamels, acrylics and lacquers were used throughout. Nothing really to note about that build that has not already been said in the many online reviews of the kit.

Enjoy!

nicely done I remember those at Bradley field in conn in the 60’s

That’s a good looking bird!

Nice!

That looks great! I have the Encore reboxing of this kit in the stash with all the extra goodies. I hope it looks half as good when I get around to it.

Thanks all. I plan to enter it in the local model show this fall. Fingers crossed it will place.

The paint work for the markings is excellent! [t$t]

NOICE!!! The tan radome is unique. You usually see black. That really makes for a different Dagger.

When the instructions called for a tan radome I thought it was a mistake. Did some digging online and found a pic of the actual aircraft. Tan radome. It was not common but it was correct for that aircraft.

very nice ! That turned out excellent !

Wow! Beautiful job.

You did an assembly that is amazing!

Your friend, Toshi

Very well done!

Looks really nice!

WOW, WOW, WOW. Great job on the 102. The first jet fighter I got to sit in was an F-102 and I was mesmerized. The SGT that let me get in the cockpit sternly told me “DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING”. The aircraft was natural metal as the ADC paint came later. The Tan nose was not that uncommon, but black was generally seen. I think the nose was something other than metal because of the radar. Anybody? Anyways, thats a great model of the F-102 and it brings back good memories.

Very, very nice airplane!!! Great job.

Sweet…
