Does anyone make a set of decals for the CAF B-24 “Diamond Lil”? If so, where can I get them?
Thanks

Just so you are aware…the CAF B-24 Diamond Lil wasn’t a B-24 it was an LB-30 made to look like a B-24. Since it has undergone restoration, it is now more of a B-24 than an LB-30. It also is no longer known as Diamond Lil.
The LB-30 was the cargo/transport version of the same airframe that the B-24 was built on.
Note the windows along the fuselage.
Today she is known as Ole 927…note no windows along the fuselage under the wings.
Diamond Lil is an original short-nose RB-24A or LB-30B, Liberator I. These were part of the original French order but were taken over by the British. It was part of the original 20, and was serialed AM 927. It was damaged before delivery and was taken back by Consolidated and rebuilt as a C-87 transport. It was given the 3 foot nose plug which lengthened the nose as a regular B-24C/D. It looks like it also has PBY cowlings as it does not have the original exhausts.
All true, however the CAF put the bomber nose on her, carried her on the roster, and billed her to the public as a B-24 assigned to and flown by the B-29/B-24 Squadron… She carried the LB-30/C-87 description plaque under the tail for the Purists though… During my tenure with the squadron, she was never referred to as anything but a B-24… [;)]
She’s also got a supporting role in the movie “Fat Man and Little Boy”… The movie company made a fiberglass nose-cap for her to make her look like a C-87 again for BG Leslie Groves (Paul Newman) to fly off in and carries a movie-camera mission mark to denote that…
