Hi!
Here are the photos of my latest work.
It`s the ICM kit, which despite having received a lot of “flack” builds up into a beautifull model.
It has several issues, mainly with the cockpit, but, after the glass work was installed, this modeller can live very well with it.
paints utilised: Vallejo Model Air e acrílicos Mig.
detailing sets: Eduard interior and exterior set
If you have interest, you can find in my blog around 90 fotos with all the building and painting process explained. http://josepiresmodelismo.blogspot.pt/
This model was part of Airfix Model World mag, December 2017 issue.
Very nicely done, i like the use of the dot filters. The cockpit looks very well fitted out. I keep meaning to pick up theren 72nd A-5 kit. Might have to get my butt in gear.
Nicely done. Cockpit looks excellent! Love the exhaust stains trailing from the cowling. Weathering is nicely done. Would like to see some wear and tear on the prop blades and spinner, not nessesarily chipping, but some color variations and grime. A+ build friend!
WOW, this is the quality model building I have spent all of my modeling hours to achieve (but haven’t hit the mark yet.) TY for posting the inspiration Mate.
My base paint for this model was the Vallejo Model Air RLM colours, in this case, RLM 65,70 and 71 for the camo.
The dots are oil paints straight from the tube. In this case these are from Windsor&Newton. They are blended in using a flat brush and odourless turpentine. Enael thinners will also work. At this stage, i usually work on a satin surface, as it allows the oils to be perfectly blended.
John, its known as dot filtering and has been used by armour modelers for some time. Some people like Bil Plunk use enamels instead of oils. This is the first time i have seen it used on aircraft.
