1/48 GR.1 Tornado "Desert Storm"/ "Operation Granby" Nose Art Decals?

I have an old 1/48 ESCI Tornado that I got as part of a package deal. I hadn’t thought much about it until I saw some really cool pics of the pink desert camo GR.1s that flew missions in “Desert Storm” (or “Operation Granby” as the RAF called it). Some of those aircraft have very cool nose art.

Does anyone know of any nose art decal sets for a 1/48 Tornado?

Here are a couple:

But they’re from Operation Telic (OIF) not Granby (Desert Storm).

Cheers,

Chris.

Thanks for the links, but those would be Tornado GR.4s. Mine’s a GR.1

They do have the noseart though. Might be able to come up with a “typical” in theatre GR.1 in fictitious markings using one of those sheets.

Dave - about the only external differenece between the GR.1/1a and the GR.4/4A is the FLIR sensor on the port underside of the nose:

which the GR.4 has, but the GR.1 hasn’t. Easy to scratchbuild from plastic strip. Internally, the instrumetn panels need work, with MFDs replacing most of the analogue instrumets, but the ESCI/ Italeri instrument panels are inaccurate for the GR.1, so you’d need to do work here anyway.

Cheers,

Chris.

Ooh, they also have this set too. It has a Gulf War aircraft on it.

Oh what the heck, I ordered all three. I’ll sort it out later.

Thanks for the help Chris! [:)]

Thanks for the info. Hmm, maybe I can find one of those on Ebay.
