1/48 Franklin Mint Die Cast B-26 Marauder

Well, I’m back. Between Working 70+ hours a week and having the flu last week, I haven’t spent but 5 minutes in the shop. But today, I finally was able to get down to business.

She’s ready for touchup then clear.

Enjoy your weekend

A prime example of making a sow ear into a silk purse!

Idiots Delight comes to life.

Decals are applied. Couple of coats for Future tomorrow, then the fun begins making this thing look like it’s been to hell and back!

Cheers

Nice work Rob!

Keep April 9th open!!! (Warren show)

Thanks Fermis…Can’t do it this year. We are having a 50th Wedding Anniversery party for my parents that day. I might sneak up there in the morning if I get a chance.

Cheers

I just have to ask 1 question: wouldn’t it be easier just to build a 1/48 monogram kit then upgrading this die-cast?

I’m building this for a friend and he has approximately 100 Franklin Mint Aircraft. This might be the first of many that I do for him. Trust me. I would much rather work with the plastic kit. I think it would look much better.

She’s starting to look like she’s been used and abused. Now it’s time for some final tweeks and touchups.

Thanks for looking

Hey everyone. It’s been a while. As you may recall I’m building this for a friend. When he saw the pictures of the weathering he decided he did not like it. Too much paint chipping. He wanted a replica of Idiots Delight, and that’s what I did. Oh well…I touched up 90% of the chipping, then started weathering again. Still have a lot of work to do. I hope he likes this.

Cheers

Rob-

Hate to say it but I like the toned down weathering version better myself. I dont know what the real A/C looked like...guess it was pretty beat up going by your 1st attempt! Youre making a tough job look easy…keep up the good work!
