I finally got this finished up and off the shelf of doom. It’s been sitting there for well over a year now. This was my test bed for the Steel Beach ERA-3B update, which gives you all the things that Trumpeter missed in the actual kit. I scrounged markings for a lo-vis scheme from VAQ-33. I made intake covers by cutting vinyl pieces to cover the openings, brushing on Mr. Surfacer 500, and then painting them red. It’s not my best, but it’s done and that’s all I really care about.
Nicely done, my dad was an EA-3B crewman. You’re inspiring me to build my kit
Very nice build. I like the extened slats and the wingfold, lends some “work plane feel” to the model.
