1/48 Eduard He-280

Just finished Eduard’s 1/48 He-280. This is a glorified limited run kit. This tooling was produced before Eduard became a top dog, so I spent like three months on this. I used Mission Models paints, and added over 100 scratch build parts to the cockpit and gear bays. The crosses were not suitable for use from the kit’s decals. You will need a lot of nose weight with this bird too! I’m happy to have this nearly forgotten piece of aviation history on display. I’m glad they went forward with this tooling, because I can’t imagine anyone else would have. It’s far from perfect, but it looks like one of the nine Heinkel 280s made haha. Next up, F-8 Crusader!

All comments welcome. Thanks for looking!

Fine job on such an interesting aircraft.

That’s a nice clean build right there!

Well done, very clean, especially the canopy work. I built the ProfiPack version some time ago and I’m happy that Eduard did this one too.

Beautifully done! Quick question about the color, in looking at various photos of the 280 I could never quite figure out what the color was. Doesn’t seem to be RLM Grau, but some other kind of primer.

I used 02 on both the He-178 and the He-280.

Very well done. Indeed there was a time when Eduard was a shade better than limited run kits. Thanks for sharing your work.
